English urn style kerosene table lamp circa 1880 made form copper plated Britannia metal. The body is heavily embossed and is supported by three feet made up of a combination of a winged cherub and a lions paw. The removable font is fitted with a bayonet burner with rare lifting mechanism enabling the gallery to be lifted up and sideways, it is also fitted with a filling tube  with level indicator and an extinguisher. The winder knobs are marked “Gardner Strand London”. The original beveled and panel crown shade  is finely acid etched with four cartouches containing maidens and children playing on opposing sides of the shade, it does have some chips to the top rim but that is only natural from over 120 years of use.
