Brass Banquet lamp made by Messengers, Birmingham England circa 1880.

The insert font is glass and removable, it is fitted with original key lift burner and extinguisher. The lifting mechanism is very unusual in that the key slides sideways to lift the top of the burner for lighting.

The 7 1/2” diameter shade is original to the lamp and is etched with four panels in two different designs.
