Cut overlay punty lamp with brass standard and marble base. Made by The Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. USA. 1850-1865

Punty means to dish out, the three rows of circles are cut back through the green overlay to the clear glass body. This gave a honeycomb effect when looking through the glass.

Originally made for whale oil, the burner was replaced  circa 1870 with a size ‘E’ Venus kerosene burner marked “E. Miller Co. made in USA”.
