Acrylic is the generic name for a clear plastic with
                        good machining properties.  Some common brand names
                        are:  Plexi Glass, Shinkolite and Perspex.
                            Acrylic may be worked virtually in the same way
                        as metal, that is to say, cut with a saw, filed,
                        machined on a lathe, polished with the same
                        polishing compounds (except rouge).
