by the Grameen Bank Support Group/Australia
 
'Grameen Bank Support Group/Australia' is pleased to nominate the Grameen Bank Housing Programme for the World Habitat Award 1997. This nomination is supported by Grameen Bank Support Groups in Japan, Singapore, Italy, and the Netherlands as well as by the New South Wales (NSW) chapter of the United Nations Association of Australia (UNAA). All these groups have provided valuable critique on this submission. The preparation of this nomination has been particularly guided by the following direction provided by the Building and Social Housing Foundation:
"... projects are sought which view the solution of housing problems from a broad perspective and address themselves to the related problems of unemployment, diminishing energy resources and a sustainable future in addition to the housing problem."
