Initially the club held races only for on-road cars at Nolans Park in Manly, With the advent of off-road buggies, approaches were made to find a suitable area to construct an off-road circuit. In March 1982 the NSW Off-Road Championships were very successfully held at the annual St Ives Show on a very makeshift circuit, so successful was the event that soon the club and Ku-ring-gai Council got together and the result was another name change and one of the best off road circuits in Australia. In 1983 the club hosted the Australian Off-Road Championships and in 1989 the only ever running in Australia of the Off-Road World Titles. Racing everything from 2 and 4 wheel drive electric to 2 and 4 wheel drive gas Trucks off-road, to on-road touring cars and minis, there is something for everyone.
